Getting our service users to join in

The people who use our services are central to what we provide. Encouraging their participation is at the core of our work. Our service users have told us that they want fun activities linked to their participation within the organisation. These activities include:

  • Regular area forums.
  • Monthly house meetings.
  • Activities within projects, such as cooking or film nights, quizzes and pool tournaments.
  • Camping.
  • BBQs.
  • Canoeing.
  • Quad biking.
  • Inter-project competitions, such as 5-a-side football.
  • Community activities, such as path clearing, or litter picking.

Every year a number of events are organised for service users from all areas to get together. ‘The Big Freeze’ is just one example, where Llamau takes over the ice rink at Cardiff’s City Hall. Our 'Big Event’ is a summer event of indoor and outdoor activities with competitions to suit all tastes.
